You may have heard of the debilitating fire suffered by AA Roll Off on the night of Thursday, Nov. 20th. An overhead heater in their garage ignited, causing fire and smoke damage to the garage, two trucks, and their front-end loaders. Thankfully, the Superior Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire before the building was a total loss. The vehicles were singed, the roof liners melted, but they were driven out of the building before they were destroyed as well.

Fortunately no one was injured, and all of the losses were of a material nature and can be replaced. The Superior fire and police departments responded quickly to this emergency, and owners Steve and Leroy Christen have expressed their admiration for the bravery and commitment to duty exhibited by these first-responders.

In all, three fire engine companies, four police officers, and a Gold Cross Ambulance were on-hand in the event of injuries, of which there were none.

AA Roll Off had to temporarily close, but they still have two operating vehicles and are already on the street serving their customers. The Christen’s plan to rebuild, but this will take time and a lot of effort to return the business to its previous operating capacity.  Fortunately, the winter months are their slow season, so they do not expect their customers to be impacted in the process.

Steve Christen stated, “Look for us to work diligently throughout the winter to rebuild what was lost. We thank all of our wonderful customers for their patience and past patronage. So many of you have called to wish us well and to offer support. Its times like these that you find out how lucky you really are.”

The AA Roll Off recycling drop-off site opened up again on Monday, Dec 1st. During the upcoming months they plan an internal review, with the stated intention to come back stronger than before the fire. Their goal is to be at full capacity again by early spring when their customers need their services the most. The video below shows a dumpster in the backyard of AA Roll Off containing smoldering debris from the fire; this was filmed four days after the fire!

For continued updates directly from AA Roll Off, Christen suggests that you subscribe to their monthly eNewsletter, where they will keep their followers up to date on their progress (click HERE to subscribe). They promise to keep you posted throughout the winter as they build a bigger and better AA Roll Off. Christen said to, “call us any time at (218) 721-4206 if we can be of help.”
