Suit Brought by Welder Against Fraser Shipyard & Others

A lawsuit was filed this morning in federal court in Madison against Fraser Shipyards in Superior.

Northern Engineering of Superior and Ohio-based Interlake Steamship Company were also named in the suit filed by James Holder, 48, of the state of Virginia, in connection with high lead levels aboard the Herbert C. Jackson this past winter.

Holder was working as a welder aboard the 690-foot bulk carrier that was being converted for a diesel-propulsion system.
