Superior Mayor gives thanks for efforts to re-tree South Tower Avenue

Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) – Superior Mayor Bruce Hagen thanked businesses and individuals today who are helping re-tree the city. Over 3,000 ash trees were taken down in Superior due to the infestation of a destructive beetle: The Emerald Ash Borer.

This beetle lead to the demolition of over 3,000 ash trees across Superior, and now, Mayor Bruce Hagen is seeking help. He says,

We need more people to contribute to more trees along this corridor.

In order to fix this problem, businesses and individuals are planting trees along the South Tower Avenue Corridor, which is where about 200 trees needed to be removed due to the disease.

One of these businesses is the National Bank of Commerce. According to Bruce Thompson, the progress of the bank depends on the success of the community. He says,…
