Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) — Another democrat is taking on Representative Sean Duffy in the race for Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional Seat.

Mary Hoeft announced her candidacy Thursday during a stop in the Douglas County Courthouse in Superior.

Hoeft is a communications arts professor at UW-Barron County.

She says she’s running for Congress to help improve wages, public schools and increase cell phone and broadband internet coverage.

“It’s time we get someone who advocates for the people of the, the most representative people, of the 7th congressional district. Sean Duffy is not that man,” said Hoeft.

Hoeft will compete in the Democratic Party primary in August with labor leader Phil Salamone, Marathon County Board member Joel Lewis, and citizen activist Ethel Quisler.

Representative Duffy is running for his fourth term.
