Angie’s Closet moves to Tower Avenue; consignment shop adds online store

Angie’s Closet opened Friday, March 29, in its new location at 1315 Tower Ave. The Superior consignment store experienced a steady flow of shoppers. 

“The new space is lovely and it’s within walking distance of my job,” said Victoria Storm, a regular customer. “I love it.” 

The space is light and bright with stunning flooring, said Dina Maki of Superior.

“It’s beautiful,” she said. “I love it in here.”

Owner Angie Colborn said she noticed more foot traffic outside the front door than at her previous location on Belknap Street as people walked up and down Tower Avenue. With a 60-unit hotel slated to be built down the street, she expects that traffic to increase. 

It’s a dream site for Colborn.

“I always wanted to be downtown and I never thought I could,” she said.

When the former Engwall Wolff’s Flower Shop building went up for sale, it fit Colborn’s budget and fashion sense. Built in 1910, it has large front windows for displays and parking is available both in front of the store and on side streets. The square footage of the space is nearly the same as her former shop at 1202 Belknap St.
