Baby, It’s NOT Cold Outside!
Well, there is no doubt we are having an unseasonably warm winter…one that is causing challenges for Roger Hanson as he continues to work on building the “Ice Project” on Barker’s Island. While it is nice that the snow and ice is melting from our sidewalks and driveways, he is no doubt frustrated by above freezing temperatures at a time of year when we are normally at our coldest.
ES was able to find a video taken a few years back when Hanson built a huge ice wall next to his home in Big Lake, Minnesota in 2011. As you can see, it dwarfed his two story home! Perhaps by seeing what his vision is for this project, some of those who have been quick to criticize this will exercise some patience (and restraint) and hope for the best. Let’s hope that the temps dip just enough for him to be able to add more height and width to his project in coming weeks.
