The University of Wisconsin-Superior has named Robert Strand as the new Admissions Director.
Strand is excited to be part of campus and the community. “We look forward to showcasing UW-Superior and its dedicated faculty and staff to future college graduates. This campus has a history of innovative and student-centered educational opportunities and I’m delighted to be a part of it.”
Strand holds a double emphasis Business Administration degree (Small Business Management and Marketing) and is completing his final capstone course on his Master of Business Administration this summer. He brings several years of experience in higher education recruitment from Bemidji State University, where he served as the freshman admissions representative for the Minnesota/Wisconsin border, Iron Range, Twin Ports, and NW Wisconsin areas for five years.
He held other roles at BSU on an interim basis as well, including Assistant Director of Admission, Transfer Student Coordinator, and Scholarship Coordinator. He brings a strong understanding of technology and analytics to the admissions office at UW-Superior and understands the needs and wants of students in our immediate area and across the region.
“Robert brings to UW-Superior a solid background in understanding the needs of today’s student, whether it’s a traditional student coming from high school, a graduate student furthering his or her educational pursuits or a transfer student coming to our campus for the first time,” said Harry Anderson, Dean of Students at UW-Superior.
The University of Wisconsin-Superior is a public liberal arts institution of 2,500 students in the Duluth-Superior, MN-WI metro area. Founded in 1893 as a teacher’s college, UW-Superior now offers more than 30 majors, select graduate programs, and competitive Division III athletics programs, as well as research and scholarship that support the community and region.
