General Douglas McArthur with Major Richard Bong

In conjunction with the Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center, the DCHS is hosting a dinner saluting all U.S. Veterans and Active Duty who have since 1775 put themselves between us and danger. This year marks 240 years that the U.S. Military has been on duty.

There are two speakers for this event, one from the Bong Veterans Center on the life of Major Bong and the other from the Douglas County Historical Society talking about why it is so important to preserve the history of our veterans.

Additionally, entertainment will be provided by the World Famous, International Polka Association Hall of Fame musician Florian Chmielewski. There will be adult beverages available as well as a great dinner. DCHS wants everyone to know that this is NOT a fundraiser for DCHS but a special night for the Veterans.

Tickets are available online at DouglasHistory.org or by stopping by the Douglas County Historical Society at 1101 John Ave, Superior or the Bong Center in Superior.   IF you are unable to attend but would like for a veteran to attend…please purchase a ticket for a veteran and that ticket will be given to a veteran with your compliments.

This is a great way to show your appreciation of the men and women who took on the security of the nation for us all.
