Creating a “More” Link
If your post is more than a six or seven lines of text, you’ll want to insert a “More” link into your post. This will cause a (more…) icon to be placed into your post; by clicking this link the reader will be taken to another page where your entire post will be viewable. The nice thing about inset a MORE link into your blog post is that you will preserve some space on the main page for other posts by other writers, so that your post won’t dominate the entire screen. As stated above, your post will be easily accessed by simply clicking the “more” link.
If you are working in the visual editing mode, the “Insert More” icon is the one that looks like a dotted line on a road as shown to the right.
Place your cursor where you want the jump to happen and click on the Insert More tag box. A line labeled “More” will appear separating the text that will appear on the home post page from the content that will only appear on the page where you entire post will reside. Play with this option until you master it. If all ESBS’ers take advantage of this option, ESB will be beautiful and easier to read…won’t you learn and try to help us?
