Why Your Post is “Pending”

Download a Printable Copy of All Instructions for Explore Superior

Some Explore Superior users are able to publish posts instantly and some are not. Why is that you ask…well, to be honest, it’s a trust issue. Until we know that you are not going to start posting all sorts of nasty, or unproductive things on ESB, we will moderate your posts. Once you’ve proven to us that you are a good, community minded ESBS’er, we’ll raise your clearance level so your posts go live immediately. As always of course, we reserve the right to edit or remove posts we find inappropriate.

The people who can publish instantly have “author” status. They are generally the people who have posted many things on ESB and are somewhat trusted by our administrators.

Most users have “contributor” status. When they write a post it is automatically given a “pending” status, which means an administrator has to approve it. This reduces the chance that naughtiness will ensue.

In order for “pending” posts to be approved, one of the administrators has to notice that it’s there, so your posts may stay pending for a few hours. We will try to insure that your posts are live within 24 hours at the latest.

Should we choose to NOT publish a post, we may or may not email you and tell you why. If we have the time, and you seem like a nice person in need of direction, we’ll probably drop you line and tell you why we didn’t publish your post. On the other hand, if you seem like someone we wouldn’t have a cup of coffee with, we may not give you a reason. If you’re confused, you can reach us at ExploreSuperior@gmail.com for clarification.
