North Country National Scenic Trail

Explore the St. Croix & Brule Rivers!

By Peter Nordgren

Explore the headwaters of the St. Croix and Brule Rivers on a guided hike Saturday, September 3rd, beginning at 9 AM.  The hike on the North Country National Scenic Trail will pass through the Brule Spillway State Natural Area, home to unique plant life.  A UW-Superior botanist will join the group to share knowledge about the unique wetland environment found along the Brule Bog Boardwalk.

Hikers will meet at 9 AM at K D’s Restaurant in downtown Solon Springs.  The hike is sponsored by the North Country Trail Association’s Brule-St. Croix Chapter, volunteers who help build and maintain America’s longest hiking trail.
