Running season is starting.

elsa-frozen-24524-1920x1080Every year at this time, I get itchy to run outside.  This year was the worst.  I ran on the treadmill from November till just recently, thanks to Mother Nature or if you are a Frozen fan you can blame Elsa.

Now it is warmed up and the snow is melting and it is time to hit the pavement.  The Lakewalk is a great place to run where  you don’t have to worry about traffic or snow/ice for the most part.  But really who wants to drive all the way across the bridge when you can run here in Superior.

Yesterday, I hit the streets of Superior.  They weren’t all that bad.  There wasn’t any snow on the sidewalks just puddles and lots of them.   It was still a great run.  28th/Mall Dr was pretty dry for the most part.  On my way to work I checked out Tower’s sidewalks and they were all dry.

Runners just a friendly reminder run against traffic and those of you that are driving and see a runner, please pull into the other lane or at least give us some room on the road.  I had having to dive in the ditches.

Oh and if you are looking for some local races to do there are lots.  This weekend is the Polar Bear 5k, and next weekend is the Fitger’s 5K.  There are many more listed here.
