The Superior School District is Hiring!
This is the time of year when the School District of Superior begins planning for professional staff for the 2015-2016 school year. We will have several openings in various positions for the teaching group. We also have one administrative position, assistant principal at the Superior Middle School. We like to post these positions early so we get the best candidates!
Prior to interviewing outside candidates, we post these jobs internally. Our current staff may be interested in trying a new opportunity or moving to a different building. Of course, to move to a new opening the teacher must have the correct license. For example, a science teacher at the middle school may be interested in moving to the high school. Our current staff deserve the opportunity to try a new adventure if they are a good fit. We value and support our staff!
Some of the teaching opportunities for 2015-2016 will be:
- music
- library media specialist
- speech and language pathologist
- counselor
- occupational therapist
- special education
- secondary science
- other unique positions
Our salary is very competitive. For teachers with a bachelor’s degree the current range is between $35,000-$58.000. For teachers with a master’s degree the current range is $38,000-$67,000. We honor years of experience individuals bring from other districts. We also value teachers that have gone on to obtain their National Board Certification as well as Doctorate Degrees though annual stipends.
Superior is a great place to work. Our district believes in collaboration and supporting all staff. We provide ongoing staff development sessions to ensure our skills and abilities are the best they can be. We need top notch staff in order to meet our mission to, “provide all children with the relevant tools to develop a foundation for living, learning and working successfully.” Successful students are the core of our work.

Our goal is to post, screen, interview and hire by early May. The District uses this as a target for a few reasons. We again want to secure the best candidates. In addition, we want to issue contracts prior to the end of the school year. It is always nice to know who will be where before the staff leaves for the summer break.
