Superior business owner fined for marijuana possession

CannibasA Superior business owner will pay a fine after eight marijuana plants were found growing in her residence.

Tracey Lynn Karr, 43, pleaded no contest Oct. 3 in Douglas County Circuit Court as a party to misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Karr, who operated Tracey’s Resale, was ordered to pay $508 in fines and court costs.

According to the criminal complaint:

Members of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant May 28 at the home where Karr and Fred Theodore Rose, 48, lived on the 4000 block of East Second Street. Eight marijuana plants in red Solo cups were found at the residence as well as a marijuana pipe, scale, drug paraphernalia and a baggie containing suspected marijuana. Karr made a comment that it was an experiment and blamed Rose. When Det. Richard Schnell of the sheriff’s office commented to Karr that she was aware of the marijuana and smoked it, she agreed saying, “yeah, but I’m dumb.”

Rose faces felony manufacture marijuana. His next court appearance is Monday.
