Field Trip Yields Meeting with Police Chief

By Brandi Raney

Family Resource Center Police VisitOn Wednesday, April 13, 2016, the Family Resource Center took a field trip to the Superior Police Department. Fifteen children, ages 6 months to 5 years old attended, and were able to see where our Superior police force works.

The tour included a look at police records, the Chief of Police’s office, and more. The children watched a demonstration of a Taser gun and were able to hold the station’s practice rubber guns. They tried out the holding bench, used primarily by delinquent youth.Family Resource Center Police Visit

Additionally, they were able to sit in a squad car and listen to the siren. It was an enjoyable tour for all the children attending.

The Family Resource Center is working with our community to arrange future field trips for Superior’s youngest citizens, including a trip to the fire station and an alpaca farm. The FRC will be moving back into a classroom this summer, allowing us to host classes at Northern Lights Elementary once again.

Our summer session will coincide with the district’s summer school program, and will run June 20 through July 15. For more information, contact the Family Resource Center at 715.395.5657.
