UWS International Students

Join students from around the world for an evening of international dining and entertainment as the University of Wisconsin-Superior’s World Student Association presents its 18th annual Cultural Night on Saturday, Nov. 8, on the UW-Superior campus.

This year about 139 students from 43 countries in North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Africa are attending UW-Superior. Cultural Night is a long-standing tradition in which these international students bring together people from the community and the campus for an evening of entertainment and a celebration of cultures.

“A Night Abroad” is the theme of this year’s Cultural Night, and begins with the Global Feast from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Yellowjacket Union Great Room. The dinner features dishes native to the homelands of the university’s international students as well as local students.

Following dinner is the International Cultural Show from 7 to 9 p.m. in Thorpe Langley Auditorium in Old Main. More than 100 international and American students participate in this event by singing, dancing, acting, modeling in a fashion show and taking part in a flag ceremony.
Tickets for students are $10.00 for dinner and the show or $5.00 for just the show. For adults, the cost is $15.00 for dinner and the show or $10 for just the show. Kid’s tickets are $6.00 for the dinner and show.

Tickets can be purchased in advance from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4 through Friday Nov. 7 in the Yellowjacket Union, 1605 Catlin Ave. Tickets can also be reserved by calling the Office of International Programs at (715) 394-8138 or going to the office 337 Old Main. Tickets also can be purchased at the door.
Reporters, photographers and videographers are welcome to cover this popular campus and community event.

Free parking is available for the event in university lots.
