L to R: Ann Hoffman, Nicole Teasley, Mark Sisson, Tracy TePoel, Wendy Running

A breakout group from this year’s 2014-2015 Superior/Douglas County Leadership program has been working on creating a virtual presence for the city of Superior. The members of this group include; Ann Hoffman from Essentia Health; Wendy Running from Enbridge; Mark Sisson from BMO Harris Bank; Nicole Teasley from Family Forum Inc.; and Tracy TePoel from the School District of Superior.

Leadership Superior & Douglas CountyEstablished in 1991, the Leadership Superior/Douglas County Program is an annual program for approximately 25-30 emerging and existing leaders who want to be involved in improving our community and shaping its future. Participants represent a cross-section of the urban and rural communities of Douglas County, and have diverse backgrounds and interests.

The project that this group has been working on is to make our website, Explore Superior, more visible to the community, and to help encourage community members to contribute blogs to the site based on their personal interests in Superior and Douglas County. The website was created by one of the 2013-2014 Leadership groups with the assistance of Doug Dalager, who is the owner and administrator of the website, and Jon Winter, of Winter Systems Computers.

The website was born as a result of the brainstorming of the 2013-2014 Leadership group. The goal of this year’s Leadership group is to connect with local organizations and community members to encourage that they share information on Explore Superior about positive things happening in Superior and Douglas County. The future of this project is to promote Explore Superior to local organizations, businesses, and citizens who are interested in sharing positive happenings in our community. Through this promotion, it is hoped that people from all walks of life who reside in our area, will choose to contribute information to the website, and ultimately to an ongoing conversation of what it is like living here.
