Living History Walk Returns Saturday, Sept. 17

Douglas County Historical Society Sponsors 2nd Annual Event

There’s a story in every plot! Come to the Greenwood Cemetery for the Living History Walk this Saturday. You will learn about Martin Pattison, builder of industry and Fairlawn Mansion. Or of Lura Runkel, who was a wonderful teacher, administrator and co-author of the Dick and Jane Elementary Primer Books (yes, she was from Superior!)

Also featured will be Charles S. Starkweather, one-time Episcopal Pastor and the only Mayor ever impeached in Superior. Many more gone, but not forgotten people who found their final resting place in Greenwood Cemetery  will also be highlighted.

The persons depicted in the Living History Walk will have their stories told by actors dressed in period garb. The actors will be located by their respective plots. General admission tickets are $20 in advance, and $25 at the gate. Veterans rate of $15, children (6-14) only $10, and kiddles 5 and under are FREE.
