Hometown Bank NB of C Plays Vital Role in Superior

The Minnesota Bankers Association (MBA) recently recognized the National Bank of Commerce for their community involvement. NBofC was one of twenty-one banks honored for their work with community organizations, providing funding, volunteers, materials, supplies, and food for local residents.

Although the MBA is a Minnesota based organization, they specifically recognized NBofC as a Superior based bank for their good works. According to MBA President/CEO Joe Witt, the recognized banks “are the heart and soul of their communities. In addition to providing capital that helps communities grow and thrive, their support of “local programs is simply unmatched” by any other industry.

Spartan Sports ComplexNBofC was a major sponsor of the new Spartan Sports Complex at Superior High School, having donated $400,000 towards its development, and is the sponsor of this winter’s “Lake Superior Ice Project.” The bank is also involved in many local charities as both a financial sponsor, but also in time donated by its employees. Bank officers are involved in local fraternal organizations such as Rotary and the Optimist Club, and its employees are involved in numerous other charitable functions throughout the city, including the Lake Superior Dragon Boat Festival.

Explore Superior gives NBofC a “tip of the hat” for their continued support of Superior and the surrounding area. In these days of online banking, it is surely reassuring that you can drive down the street and sit down with your banker for a friendly discussion.
