Dr. Monica Roth Day has accepted the role of Director for the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) for 2015-2017. This is a two year appointment that begins in summer 2015.

Monica has been an active proponent of instructional development for the past 7 years at UW-Superior, to achieve campus-level learning goals as well as program-specific outcomes. Her background in educational administration and leadership at the undergraduate and graduate levels, along with her passion for teaching excellence, make her an ideal person to continue to move our CETL activities forward. Monica is fully committed to student-centered teaching and learning. Through her career, she has facilitated meaningful dialogue while moving toward goal achievement. Her ability to facilitate and organize, while serving as a mentor and guide, will benefit our faculty and staff.

We have integrated instructional technology design and development into the role of CETL. Her experience teaching online and through the Social Work hybrid program will be valuable in her new leadership role as Director. Please congratulate Dr. Roth Day on this appointment.

I would also like to recognize Dr. Maria Stalzer Wyant Cuzzo who was the inaugural Director of CETL, shaping our instructional staff development into a model support unit for quality teaching and learning. Maria will work with Monica to transition the leadership role as she completes her 8th year of service as CETL Director. She will stay on in a partial appointment for summer 2015 to aid with this transition and collaborate with Monica on our Summer 2015 programs.

Please join me in thanking Maria for her tremendous service, and commitment to our Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) work and the valuable contributions she made to conceptualizing, organizing, and managing numerous CETL events. Faculty and staff across the institution have benefited from her passion and commitment.
