High School Students Evacuated to Middle School
By Doug Dalager
As of 1:55 pm this afternoon, students at Superior High School are in the process of being evacuated due to a bomb threat at UW–Superior. The students are in a safe/secure location at the high school. Buses are arriving at SHS to transport students to Superior Middle School. Students will be held there until the end of the day and transported home on their regular routes.
A suspicious package was reportedly located near Hawkes Hall on the UWS Campus. Superior high school and middle school are in lock down. Many streets are blocked off around the high school.
Please do not go to the high school
Please do not go to the high school. We will dismiss students safely from the middle school. Students that have their own vehicle at SHS will be allowed to leave the high school only if administration/police believe it is safe to do so.
Just so you know, that is a picture of Curran-McNeil Ostrander Halls. Hawkes Hall is down near Wessman. Also, it was a suspicious package, not a bomb threat and it was found in the parking lot of Ross Hall.
Thank you, I pulled a Google pic of what was identified as Hawkes Hall. Would you like to send me a better picture? That would be much appreciated.
