Analyst Says it Could Go Below $2 this Fall

Gas prices across Wisconsin fell 2.7 cents this week, according to GasBuddy.com, a website that surveys 3,112 gas outlets in Wisconsin daily. This is on top of last week’s 4.1 cents fall, and the week before that’s fall by 2.2 cents. Prices right now are 83.5 cents per gallon lower than this day a year ago and 8.7 cents per gallon lower than it was one month ago.
“For now, it would appear that the latter half of the summer will bring cheaper gas prices than the first half while this autumn is shaping up to give this past winter a run for its money in terms of cheap gas prices,” said petroleum analyst Patrick DeHaan in a press release. “With oil nearing $50/bbl, there’s a very good possibility that by mid-fall, gasoline prices could fall under $2 per gallon in a growing number of states.”
The price for gas has been falling for 12 consecutive days; the longest length of time since January, according to AAA.
These prices are welcomed by drivers who spend much of the summer traveling. Motorists in Superior can see prices as low at 2.73 as of July 29.
