Lots of Activity Taking Place
By Natasha Schmid
Head Start and Early Head Start are off and running in the 2015-2016 school year. Some exciting things that have happened so far, in the first month are:
We were lucky enough to have Wendy Young, Child Mental Health Consultant as well as world-known co-author of her book, Bloom, at our all staff in-service in September. Check her website out at www.kidlutions.com. Dental Day for Superior Head Start children was on October 8, 2015, where children are able to receive free dental screenings and referrals from the Lake Superior Community Health Center.
We are excited to welcome all students from the higher education institutions to our program as they grow in their passion of early childhood education in fulfilling their requirements in obtaining their degree.
All parents/guardians/grandparents are welcome to come and participate in the program or volunteer in the center!
If you are a prenatal mom or have a child(ren) between the age of 0-5, please contact us regarding our Head Start and/or our Early Head Start programs. We accept child applications through the middle of March. Contact 1-800-392-4473 for additional information, or stop in at your local Head Start/Early Head Start site.
Family Forum, Inc. still has open positions for a bus driver at Center 1 in Superior, WI and is also taking applications for substitute teacher assistants, bus drivers, and cook assistants. If you are interested in applying, please contact Natasha at 1-800-392-4473 for additional information and an application.
