Without the forward vision of our past and current Superior School Board Members through responsible investing of funds, “Our House” would not have been possible. By making wise use of funds that were set aside specifically for project like this, the Board managed to build a new sports facility for our students without the need of calling for a referendum. Their work resulted in the construction of a beautiful facility without the need of increasing the school portion of property tax dollars!

Wilfred Peterson once said, “Big thinking precedes great achievement.”  This could not be more true when speaking of the achievement of our board, the major sponsorship of National Bank of Commerce, many small business and charitable organizations, as well as community members, who all came together to accomplish this fabulous sports complex!

With the cooperative relationship of the builder, Rettler Corporation, and the School District of Superior team, this major project stayed on budget. Thanks to the help of ongoing donations from the Superior community, we were also able to make additional enhancements to the stands and scoreboard, to make our great NBC Spartan Sports Complex the wonderful facility it is today.

Already, the benefits of the NBC Spartan Sports Complex have far exceeded the expectations of the School District.  Better sports programs make better schools, and better schools make better communities. Students not only benefit from the physical aspects of sports, they also learn about respect, responsibility, integrity, teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership.

We believe that continued investment in our youth, and in our community through quality schools will help Superior to develop into a destination city. In the NBC Spartan Sports Complex, we gain a resource that can not only host regional activities, but will also encourage greater attendance by students, parents, and community members at all events.  It allows other school organizations the opportunity to host additional events that enhance our community, and brings people out to appreciate student accomplishments. Nearby Superior businesses should also benefit from more activity and traffic in our fair city.

The NBC Spartan Sports Complex is nearly complete, with the laying the track surface being the final piece of the puzzle.  That work is scheduled for completion in July, when the weather guarantees us temperatures above 50° F. (At least we hope July can assure us of those “warm” temps!)

We encourage you to take in a game or event at “Our House” one day soon. We’re certain you’ll be impressed!
