The Scott Anderson Leadership Forum (SALF) was a week-long camp put on at the University of Minnesota-Duluth to help students become better leaders in their school.

Math teacher Trevor Sorensen has been an adviser for four years along with business teacher Tracy Danovsky. Sorensen feels SALF is a great experience for students.

“Students are put into situations where they have to push themselves and be out of their comfort zone,” Sorensen said.

After the camp was over students continued the experience by having a SALF club.

Senior Sam Urban attended SALF and continues to be a part of the club. “My favorite part is the closeness of the group and the laughs,” Urban said.

SALF meets on Fridays at Superior High School during Lunch and Learn to discuss leadership opportunities and play games together. They also reflect on the things learned at the forum.

Urban said the SALF organization has helped him to be a leader, especially on the football field. “It helps students realize their potential of being a leader and take that next step,” Urban said.

A majority of the students who are involved with SALF have taken their leadership roles onto other clubs. SALF helps these leaders stay focused on the rules to being a leader and also helps solve issues that had been occurring outside of their club.
