Let the Fun Begin!

It’s been a wonderful start to the 2016-2017 school year at Bryant Elementary School!

We had a great “Smart Start” day on September 1st where all of our students and parents were able to meet their new teacher and go on a scavenger hunt throughout the building to visit the following stations:

  • Pictures
  • Vision Screening
  • Blizzard Cafe (Food Service)
  • Emergency Data updates
  • Library/Computer lab

Students who visited all the stations entered their clipboards into a drawing for two free bikes (one donated by Superior School District Food Service Department), helmets and bike locks.

Our winners were Gavin Lambert, 3rd Grader in Mrs. Daube’s class and Elise Androski, Kindergartner in Mrs. Marthaler’s class.

Parents and teachers enjoy the ability to meet each other and have time to get to know each child’s needs.

We started the first full day on September 2nd with an all-school assembly to talk about the expectations at Bryant; Work, Respect, Belong.

We read a book about a boy named David who struggles to follow the expectations, “No, David!” Students and teachers have been working on the expected behaviors throughout the building and reviewed them during the “Work, Respect, Belong Kick Off” which happened on Thursday, September 15th.

During this Kick-Off, students and teachers rotated through stations around the building and reviewed the expectations of each location, demonstrating what students should look like, what it should feel like and sound like.

Throughout the year we will be acknowledging positive behavior through the use of “Golden Tickets.” Staff who witness positive behavior will fill out a golden ticket which the student will be able to place in a jar in their classroom to be entered into a weekly drawing or saved for the ability to buy something at the “Golden Ticket Store.”

It has been exciting to see all of our Bryant Blizzards learning new things and persevering when presented with challenges!
