Articulation Agreements in Accounting and Business Management

By Daniel Fanning

NTCThe University of Wisconsin-Superior and Northcentral Technical College (NTC) in Wausau, Wis. are proud to announce that they have partnered for two more articulation agreements between the two schools.

The University of Wisconsin-Superior maintains an educational partnership with the Wisconsin Technical Colleges to provide opportunities for students to enter bachelor’s degree completion programs. In the interest of fostering cooperation between institutions, and to better serve the transfer of students from Wisconsin Technical Colleges to the University of Wisconsin-Superior, the faculty and administration of our institutions have established this articulation agreement.

Four educational agreements are already in place between the two schools and now two more have been approved.

NTC students can make a seamless transition into UW-Superior by transferring the credits they earned at NTC in either the Accounting or Business Management Associated Degrees to UW-Superior in the Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting or the Bachelor of Science Degree Programs in the Department of Business and Economics.

The other agreements that are already in place are three articulation agreements in the social work field and another for a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Sustainable Management.

This agreement and others already in place allows NTC graduates to seamlessly transfer into UW-Superior to earn their remaining credits to obtain their bachelor’s degree. Qualifying students enter UW-Superior as junior status to complete their remaining two years of a bachelor’s degree program.

Mark McCoon, assistant professor in the Business and Economics department at UW-Superior was instrumental in getting this partnership completed and said the most important part of the arrangement is to support the student from start to graduation. “We want to make it easy for students to transfer from Northcentral Technical College to the University of Wisconsin-Superior. This articulation does just that!”
