The Douglas County Board approved the 2015 budget as presented by Administrator Andrew Lisak on Monday, October 27th, 2014. This video is long (56 minutes), quite dry and devoid of easy-to-read graphics, however considering there was little or no discussion of the many items in the budget, it would appear that the administration did a fine job of informing the board members in advance of this meeting of the myriad of details involved in this budget.
Various board members raised questions and/or comments at 34:24 (question regarding typo); 36:50 (clarification); 41:20 (kudos to staff); 45:37(correction made); 48:21 (question); 53:57 (correction made).
The most common thing to hear throughout the reading of the budget was Chairman Doug Finn saying “All those in favor signify by saying ‘Aye’, (unanimous everytime) “Opposed” (no dissenting votes for anything) “Motion carries…”
The budget as adopted can be viewed by clicking on the image to the right. This document is 240 pages long, so please allow sufficient time (about a minute if you have cable internet) for the entire pdf to download. If I read this correctly, the total 2015 County budget is $50,713,800 (page 65)…that’s $50M, with a big ‘M’!
