Sewer Tour at Superior High School
By Gary Niemi
This post consists of images taken during a camera scan of the sewers beneath Superior High School. This quick tour was just one sewer pipe at SHS. It is representative of all the sewer pipes, both large and small, throughout the school, which is now over fifty years old.
As it has aged this school’s infrastructure has deteriorated to the point of incipient failure. This is true of not only the sewers, but also water lines, heating lines, ventilation systems, and all the other systems that keep the school operating.
While this isn’t exactly an exciting topic of conversation around town, this demonstrates some of the serious issues the School District of Superior deal with in attempting to maintain the multiple facilities it manages.
