Janet BewleyJanet Bewley is running for the Wisconsin State Senate, in District 25. This seat has been held by Bob Jauch for the past three decades.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Bewley is 62 years old, married and has three children. She holds a B.A. from Case Western Reserve University, and an M.Ed. from the University of Maine. Bewley was employed by the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority as a Senior Community Development Officer, State Tribal Liaison, and Business Development Officer. She served on the Ashland City Council from 2007 to 2009, and is currently serving in the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing District 74; she was first elected to this office in 2010.

Main Campaign themes

Jobs and the Local Economies – supports “economic development programs targeting businesses with 24 or fewer employees.” Also wants to establish a forest products business institute to “study and assist with long-range solutions to support our forest industries” including encouraging “National and State Forest harvesting poliicies favorable to local, small operators.”

Mining and the Environment – supports “zero-tolerance for environmental degradation and responsible extractions of minerals.” Supports responsible use of resources, and wants to maintain strong legislation in order to protect public health and welfare.
