6th Annual Event to Take Place October 11th
By Doug Dalager
Superior Rotary, also known as “Club 40”, will hold its annual Craft Beer & Fine Wine Tasting event on Tuesday, October 11th from 5:30 pm until 8 pm. The fundraiser will take place in Grandma’s Sports Garden in Duluth.
As in past years, the event will give participants the opportunity to sample dozens of beers and wines, and enjoy a bountiful selection of appetizers, all for only $30. (See Event Poster Here)
Reportedly, the appetizer menu will include beef crostini, bacon wrapped dates, puffed pastry with herb cream cheese, Caprese skewers, chicken skewers, meatballs, wings, deli Meat trays, cheese & crackers, and fresh vegetables. Add to that many, many craft beers and fine wines and you have the ingredients for a great night out!
In addition to the food and beverage options, Club 40 will offer both Silent and Live auction items, as well as some fun games! A big hit at last year’s event will be repeated this year…a Wheel Barrow of Spirits will be raffled off to one lucky winner. For the price of one raffle ticket, you could win enough liquor to stock your home bar for months (or years?) to come!
According to Len Campbell, event co-chairman, net proceeds from this event will be contributed towards the Second Harvest Northern Lights Food Bank (70%) and Rotary Scholarships to WITC for non-traditional students (30%). Last year this event raised in excess of $14,000 and all net proceeds were donated back into our community to these two causes.
The Rotary Club of Superior, a service organization, happens to be Wisconsin’s oldest Rotary Club.
