Coins for Caden Effort Yields Big Results

On Friday, December 16th representatives from Great Lakes Elementary School visit the Tower Avenue branch of Superior Choice Credit Union to cash in coins that had been collected on behalf of Caden Willie, a student at Superior High School diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma.

Great Lakes students, and students at other Superior school began collecting dimes to help defray medical costs for Caden. By the time they were done, they managed to raise over $2000!

Each time a student brought in a dime, they received a strip of paper to create a classroom chain. Their goal was to have each classroom start their chain at their door, then connect with the classroom next to them, eventually connecting all classrooms and meeting in the cafeteria, the center of the school.

Caden’s mother is a 4th grade teacher at Great Lakes, and his father, Ed, is also a teacher in the Superior School District.
