Demonstrating Excellence at SHS
By Kent Bergum
The Superior High School chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) recently held a ceremony for the induction of new members. With the addition of the new inductees, there are 40 students who are active NHS members.
To be inducted into NHS, students must demonstrate scholarship, leadership, service and character. As the kick-off event in providing service to the community, NHS students dressed up for Halloween and went door to door soliciting non-perishable goods food for the Food Shelf at Faith Methodist Church.
The students collected 1043 pounds of food. The Food Shelf was nearly empty so the collection was much appreciated! NHS members did an amazing job and Superior residents were extremely generous!
