Salvation Army Asks You To Give Two Hours

By Major David Clark, Salvation Army

Salvation ArmyThe Salvation Army in Superior needs your help.  We are still short of volunteers to help us at the kettles and have many two hour shifts available. Volunteers can register online and select a location and time at www.ringbells.org, or by calling Aaron Kruse at The Salvation Army, 715-394-7001.

The funds raised by The Salvation Army in Superior stay in Superior to support the work and mission of The Salvation Army. For more information, please contact me by email at David_Clark@usc.salvationarmy.org or

Editor’s Note:

Here’s an additional plea from Geof Wendorf to all of you out there who have participated in the Leadership Superior program. Geof is seeking volunteers to help out during the week between Christmas and New Year’s.

Here is Geof’s message:

I hope the holidays find you well.  The community is in need of your help.  The sign-up for bell ringing for the Salvation Army this year has been less than we had hoped for. You may have noticed many sites with no one ringing this year. This greatly hampers our major fundraising effort and greatly impacts the amount of help we can provide to those in need throughout the year. As a result,  the Salvation Army Advisory Board voted to extend the ringing to the week between Christmas and New Year’s.

I have offered to fill Monday, December 28th with Leadership alumni and this year’s class.  We are only going to ring at the two Super One’s and the good news is that we can ring inside at both sites.

Here are the shifts I am trying to fill on Monday, December 28th:

Super One Oaks Avenue Status Super One East End Status
10:00 a.m. – Noon Open 10:00 a.m. – Noon Filled
Noon – 2:00 p.m. Open Noon – 2:00 p.m. Open
2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Open 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Open
4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Open 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Open
6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Open 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Open

Please consider taking one of the 2 hour slots at the location of your choosing.  Find a classmate, co-worker, friend or family member and join the fun.  You will be doing a great community service and will have fun doing it.  All you need to do is show up and start ringing.  The bells and kettle will be there.

If you are unable to help out on December 28th, please contact Major Clark and volunteer for another day. Please let me know if you can help and thank you very much!

Geof can be contacted at (218) 343-4666 or by email at gwendorf1@charter.net
